VR | UX Designer and Lecturer
As an interaction designer and researcher, Rohann has a strong passion for innovative thinking & creating positive and engaging experiences through his work. With recent advancements in the digital age, Rohann’s primary focus is on the user experience in immersive 3D environments in virtual, augmented and mixed realities.
His work spans in the industry, both as a 3D Artist/designer and also as an academic at the University of Sydney, Design Lab. As an active member in the Design Lab, Rohann is a sessional lecturer and facilitates workshops on VR and MR for high school students and graduates to learn software such as – Unity, 3DsMax, AE and working with devices like the Oculus Rift and Google Cardboard.
His interest in the field of immersive technologies began during his honours research in 2015, focusing on the study of natural hand gestural commands to navigate and interact with immersive 3D interfaces and widgets, using the Oculus Rift and the Leap Motion sensor.
One of the main advantages of being involved in both – industry and academics, Rohann has had the opportunity to work alongside other researchers on VR and MR advancements as well as having the opportunity to teach some of the most impressive students out there!
